Europ Assistance France receives the Innovation Award for Connect&Moi as Best disruptive product or service
On June 9th, 2016 Europ Assistance innovative solution to enable seniors to keep living on their own was celebrated by receiving Efma-Accenture Innovation in Insurance award.
Launched at the end of 2015, Connect&Moi is an autonomous smart remote support solution looking after the elderly living on their own at home that includes all the benefits of classical telecare (usability, services, emergency), without the pressure of wearing a medallion. This device, very simple to use, uses motion sensors placed in each room of a house which record the user's habits, processed by learning algorithms. Adjusting to the customer’s life schedule, this solution detects abnormal activities (such as skipping movement or change from usual schedule for example).
Call buttons are displayed on the top of the box for the user to chat with the assistance personnel, if necessary. The family of the elderly person may also interact with him/her and get a tracking record via SMS and a dedicated application. In case of a problem, an alert is launched and processed by the assistance platform available 24/7. In case of serious problems, emergency services are contacted directly by the assistance, for a quick response.
Six months after its launch, Connect&Moi received the Innovation in Insurance Award for Best Disruptive Product or Service.
This award has been created by Efma, the European trade association for insurance and finance sector, in partnership with Accenture, to identify and spread the best practices all over the world.
Efma aims to identify and award the most innovative projects in the insurance sector at a global level.
Connect&Moi has been selected by the jury, composed of insurance and financial sector executives from all over the world, who considered that Europ Assistance’s France offer is unique in the marketplace and has the potential to be a game changer. Their criteria to bestow the award upon Europ Assistance solution included the capacity to generate a superior, long-term competitive edge and a significant return on investment, as well as the possibility to adapt it across different markets and countries.
“We are very proud to receive the Innovation Award. It proves that the research and the offer we have developed address a real unmet need and brings value to the elderly, wherever they live. With Connect&Moi, we no longer are in a classical assistance service, but in a true daily support”, explains Catherine Adam, President of Europ Téléassistance.
